About the Role

Montecito Bank & Trust is offering two paid, part-time Investment Management Internships in our Wealth Management department. As an Investment Management Intern, you will deliver a World Class Experience by supporting our Wealth Management team members as well as other Bank departments. You will work in a fast-paced environment and work on projects related to audit preparation, client presentations, research, and financial planning analysis. You will be located in Montecito, CA with a fully on-site work schedule.

What We’re Looking For

• A high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of College/University coursework required; most relevant career paths would include Business, Economics, Finance, and Accounting.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
• Understanding of numerical calculations including statistical and performance measurement concepts.
• Driven to learn, proactive, and curious.

Your Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Portfolio Manager, the essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Maximize use of portfolio management system and establish best practices through creation of a user guide.
• Improve investment work of portfolio management team by increasing knowledge of vendor capabilities and use of equity research services.
• Develop standardized and streamlined product presentations to support portfolio managers and trust officers.
• Study feasibility of a sustainable investment product offering for nonprofits.
• Support audit preparation, compliance testing and tracking, and financial planning analysis as needed.
• Conduct research on various ETFs and mutual funds as needed.

Internship Schedule

• The internship program will run from May/June 2026 through August/September 2026 (flexible depending on school schedule or other job obligations).
• The position will be on-site up to 32 hours per week, with no ability to work remote, for up to 10 weeks.

The hourly rate for this position is $18.00.
