Job Description

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Investment Counsellor.

In this role you will:

  • Client Advisory, Investment Strategy and Relationship
    • Originate and deliver tailored investment advice based on a deep understanding of clients’ background and total wealth picture
    • Function as primary client contact and trusted advisor for clients including direct communication, opportunities identifications, portfolio advice and post sales execution.
    • Act as a thoughtful partner to clients, providing insights on market developments, tactical opportunities, and long-term asset allocation based on CIO insights and house views

Build and cultivate relationship with existing clients and possess entrepreneurial spirit and capability in developing new relationships

  • Portfolio Construction and Management
    • Possess a good understanding in asset allocation and ability to apply to client portfolios according to their investment objectives and requirements
    • Conduct ongoing portfolio reviews and consolidate investment performance
    • Utilize portfolio visualization tools to translate data into client presentation narratives
    • Conduct research and analysis on market trends, economic indicators, and other financial data to formulate investment recommendations
    • Determine suitability and ensure investment activities are compliant with HSBC internal policies and external regulatory requirements
  • Business Development and Collaboration
    • Work closely with Relationship Managers to address client needs and develop solutions
    • Engage with Product Teams in understanding new product launches and existing product updates to ensure appropriate advice will be promptly delivered to clients
    • Articulate HSBC Private Bank’s value propositions to clients
    • Engage in identifying cross-selling opportunities including other business functions of the bank, including lending, trust and global banking and markets, etc.

To be successful you will need:

  • Deep expertise across public and private markets, including Equities, FX, Fixed Income, Alternatives, Funds and Structured Products
  • Curiosity and commitment to continuous learning to stay ahead of evolving market trends, technologies, and client demands
  • Hands-on experience with market data terminals
  • Sharp analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong presentation skills
  • Proactive problem-solver and synthesize information into actionable advice
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Language: Cantonese, Mandarin and English
  • A strong sense of integrity, professionalism and a client-centric mindset
