Job Description

The Investment Banking Associate will play a vital role in our Healthcare Group, focusing on the dynamic life sciences and biopharma sectors. This position involves evaluating new investment opportunities, supporting M&A activities, and assisting with IPO processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the healthcare industry.

  • Evaluate and analyze investment banking opportunities in life sciences and biotechnology.
  • Contribute to client positioning, messaging, and value proposition discussions.
  • Develop and maintain pitch materials for business development initiatives.
  • Conduct M&A assessments on behalf of clients, including strategic and financial analysis.
  • Support the drafting and due diligence process for IPOs, including S-1 preparation.
  • Accompany senior bankers to client meetings, pitches, and drafting sessions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client pipeline candidates and their scientific, clinical, and competitive landscapes.
  • Conduct industry, company, and product research across various biotechnology therapeutic areas.
  • Translate complex scientific concepts into accessible insights for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with senior bankers in a fast-paced, client-centric environment.
  • PhD degree in a biological or life sciences-related field from an accredited institution.
  • Strong understanding of complex scientific concepts relevant to biotechnology.
  • General knowledge of life sciences and biopharma industry trends and developments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present scientific information clearly.
  • Willingness to work closely with senior bankers and adapt to a dynamic, client-driven work environment.
  • Currently residing in or open to relocating to New York.
  • Experience in investment banking, consulting, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A passion for the healthcare industry and a desire to contribute to its growth and innovation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
