We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Investment Associate – RCF Partnership Strategy.

This role sits within HSBC Asset Management’s Capital Solutions team. You will join a focused and entrepreneurial investment team managing a private credit fund investing in revolving credit facilities (RCFs) to leveraged corporates. The role offers direct exposure to the investment and fundraising lifecycle, and the opportunity to contribute significantly to the growth of our platform.

In this role you’ll:

• Evaluate, underwrite and execute new investment opportunities for the RCF Fund together with senior team members of the investment team.
• Perform detailed company, sector and market analysis, including assessment of business models, competitive positioning, management teams, financial sponsors and key investment risks.
• Review financial, commercial, tax, legal, ESG and other third-party due diligence materials, identifying key findings and areas requiring further investigation.
• Build and maintain detailed cash flow and credit models including downside and sensitivity analyses.
• Analyse capital structures, financing terms and structural protections, and assess the risk-adjusted attractiveness of proposed investments.
• Prepare Investment Committee memos and present deal opportunities to the Investment Committee for approval.
• Support transaction structuring, negotiation and execution, including the review of term sheets, facility agreements, intercreditor arrangements, security packages and other financing documentation.
• Monitor portfolio investments following completion by reviewing financial performance, liquidity, covenant compliance, business developments and sector trends.
• Contribute to the continued development of investment, monitoring and reporting processes, including the responsible adoption of AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and analytical insight.
• Support investor engagement and fundraising activities by preparing marketing materials, portfolio analysis and ad hoc research for prospective and existing clients.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• Relevant professional experience in leveraged finance, private credit, direct lending, acquisition finance or a closely related field.
• Experience analysing leveraged or sponsor-backed businesses, ideally within the European large-cap or upper mid-market segment.
• Strong credit-underwriting skills, including the ability to identify and articulate key business, financial, structural and documentation risks and appropriate mitigants
• Strong financial-modelling skills, including the ability to build integrated cash-flow models and downside analysis.
• Experience reviewing due diligence materials and synthesizing complex information into clear investment conclusions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing credit papers, investment memoranda or similar approval materials.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
