Job Location: CRIME INVESTIGATION DIVISION - Brunswick, GA 31520
Salary Range: $53,560.00 - $69,883.64 Salary/year
Job Shift: AlternateThis is a full-time position and receives all benefits afforded to regular employees.                                                           Position requires: GA P.O.S.T. certification with four (4) years of previous law enforcement experience.

Summary: The purpose of this classification is to provide protection of life and property, enforcement of federal, state, and local laws, response to emergency/non-emergency situations, and investigation of criminal activity.
Essential Job Functions: The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Conducts criminal investigations and/or response to dispatched calls involving narcotics, vice, homicide, rape, assault, abduction, missing persons, juvenile, child abuse/neglect, abuse of the elderly, auto/property theft, burglary, robbery, gang activity, financial fraud, forgery, or other crimes.
- Enforces all applicable codes, ordinances, laws, and regulations (including traffic, criminal and civil) in order to protect life and property, prevent crime, and promote security.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications & BenefitsMINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of previous law enforcement experience must be GA P.O.S.T. certified (or able to obtain equivalent training) and complete at least twenty hours of Georgia P.O.S.T. approved service training annually. Must have completed a minimum of 1 year in a specialized investigative unit.  High school diploma or GED, supplemented by 40 semester college hours from an accredited college/university or have obtained at least 400 hours of advanced law enforcement-related training, a combination of college hours and training hours to equal 400 equivalent training hours. Must possess a valid driver’s license and no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude or convictions of domestic violence or domestic violence-related offenses. All applicants must pass the Physical Agility Test before employment.
