This is a full-time position and receives all benefits afforded to regular employees. Position requires: GA P.O.S.T. certification with four (4) years of previous law enforcement experience.
The purpose of this classification is to provide protection of life and property, enforcement of federal, state, and local laws, response to emergency/non-emergency situations, and investigation of criminal activity.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of previous law enforcement experience must be GA P.O.S.T. certified (or able to obtain equivalent training) and complete at least twenty hours of Georgia P.O.S.T. approved service training annually. Must have completed a minimum of 1 year in a specialized investigative unit. High school diploma or GED, supplemented by 40 semester college hours from an accredited college/university or have obtained at least 400 hours of advanced law enforcement-related training, a combination of college hours and training hours to equal 400 equivalent training hours. Must possess a valid driver’s license and no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude or convictions of domestic violence or domestic violence-related offenses. All applicants must pass the Physical Agility Test before employment.
