About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Trade Review and Analysis, the Investigative Trading Coordinator is accountable for providing technical and administrative support for the Trade Review and Analysis (TR&A) management and staff.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently compile and finalize reports for accurate and timely submission to the commissions.
  • Gatekeeper Reports management including examining and documenting Participant Gatekeeper reports within our internal systems for thorough record-keeping and analysis.
  • Source and organize files for external referrals.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual statistical reports for management.
  • Administer multiple TR&A databases.
  • Schedule staff meetings and other departmental meetings as needed.
  • Maintain distribution lists for the Department.
  • Respond directly to external and internal requests for information.
  • Assist with the preparation of general correspondence, presentations, and other confidential documents, as required.
  • Maintain Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and call tree as appropriate.
  • Review of FINRA Bluesheet requests.
  • Maintain distribution lists for the Department.
  • Support the department nationally in other administrative functions, other duties as required.

  • Advanced database management skills
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Handle multiple assignments
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to proactively seek opportunities to create more effective and efficient administration.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent spelling, grammar and writing skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and consistency
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with the various Divisions and Departments within CIRO as to roles and objectives
  • Knowledge of the securities industry and its terminology would be an asset

Nice to Haves

  • High School or College degree or diploma.
  • At least three (3) years related administrative experience.
  • Experience providing support to multiple stakeholders at various management levels.
  • Completion of an exam or course that demonstrates competency in the investment industry such as the Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE), and/or Retail Securities Exam and/or Institutional Securities Exam, or other legacy courses such as the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) Course are considered an asset.
  • Completion of an exam or course that demonstrates competency in the investment industry and trading on marketplaces such as the Trader Exam or other legacy courses such as the Trade Training Course (TTC) are considered an asset.
  • Bilingual (English and French) would be an asset.
