Job Description

The Daily Wire is looking for a driven Investigations Reporter who is passionate about uncovering the truth and holding powerful institutions accountable. In this role, you will lead original, in-depth investigations that expose wrongdoing and bring important facts to light for a national audience. Reporting to the Investigations Editor, you’ll work on complex and often sensitive stories, using public records, interviews, data analysis, and confidential sources.
This role is ideal for a reporter who thrives on long-term projects, values accuracy and fairness, and exercises strong editorial judgment and discretion. You’ll play a meaningful role in advancing The Daily Wire’s mission by producing impactful investigative journalism that informs the public and stands up to the highest editorial and legal standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and execute investigative stories from pitch through publication
• Identify story angles, pursue leads, and conduct original reporting through interviews, records requests, document review, and data analysis
• Produce clear, accurate investigative articles for a broad audience
• Research and corroborate information using multiple independent sources
• Build and maintain on-the-record and confidential sources in accordance with ethical standards
• Maintain organized reporting files and documentation for editorial and legal review
• Work with editors and legal counsel to address legal, ethical, and reputational risk
• Collaborate with newsroom partners to develop investigative ideas and support reporting initiatives

Experience & Requirements

• Background in journalism, investigative reporting, communications, or a related field preferred
• Proven experience in investigative or enterprise reporting
• Strong research, interviewing, and source-development skills
• Ability to analyze complex documents, data, and public records
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to factual accuracy
• Sound editorial judgment and ethical decision-making
• Ability to manage long-term projects and meet demanding deadlines
