Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to advance your career while working with an extraordinary team? At Merakey, we put heart and soul into everything we do. We are seeking a full-time Investigation Specialist to join our Quality Compliance Organization (QCO) team in Philadelphia, PA

This is a hybrid position. Travel to programs in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties is required.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM with some flexibility required, plus weekend on call rotation.

Earn $25.64-26.66/hour

The Investigation Specialist conducts thorough reviews and investigations of incidents across Merakey programs to protect the safety, rights, and well-being of individuals served. This role helps reduce organizational risk by ensuring timely, compliant, and accurate investigations that support Merakeys commitment to quality, integrity, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned investigations related to consumer quality of care, including allegations of abuse, neglect, exploitation, complaints, and peer review/death investigations.
  • Conduct investigations across Individuals with Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), Adult Behavioral Health (ABH), and Children & Families Services (CFS) programs.
  • Utilize the Quality & Compliance Organization Management System (QCOMS) to document case activity and support Quality & Compliance KPI requirements.
  • Navigate and maintain compliance within the Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) system for ODP, OMHSAS, and internal Service Level Agreements.
  • Coordinate and deliver investigation outcomes during scheduled Findings Calls with Operations, HR, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain timely, professional communication with the Incident Supervisor regarding case investigations and case management activities.
  • Collaborate with Quality & Compliance teams—including Privacy, Quality, Safety, and Compliance—on related projects and initiatives.
  • Apply knowledge of federal/state regulations, payer standards, contracts, and corporate policies to ensure accurate investigative practices and identify policy violations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' related experience.
  • Familiarity with ODP Certified Investigation process, current CI preferred but not required. Expectation is to obtain CI certification within 90 days upon hire.
  • Verbal Communication: Conducts interviews, presents findings, and communicates professionally in all investigatory meetings.
  • Time Management: Prioritizes tasks effectively to meet case deadlines and support departmental needs.
  • Written Communication: Prepares clear investigation reports and maintains accurate case records in QCOMS.
  • Objectivity: Remains impartial throughout investigations, including interviews, summaries, findings reviews, and improvement plan activities.
