The Inventory Support Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory across distribution centers, warehouses, and field‑based trunk stock locations. This role ensures inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and product availability to support sales, clinical, and customer needs. The Inventory Support Specialist partners closely with field sales representatives, operations, and supply chain teams to manage cycle counts, reconcile trunk stock and consignment inventories, and ensure compliance with quality system/regulatory requirements common to the medical device industry

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for medical devices, accessories, and consigned or trunk stock using ERP or inventory management systems

  • Perform regular cycle counts across inventory locations, including field‑based trunk stock held by sales representatives; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Coordinate directly with field sales representatives to schedule trunk stock counts, ensure documentation is completed accurately, and validate product usage or returns

  • Support customer consignment programs by maintaining agreed‑upon par levels, active consignment agreements, managing inventory movements, and ensuring accurate reconciliation and documentation.

  • Monitor inventory levels to support field demand, prevent device shortages, and reduce excess or expired inventory in compliance with company policies

  • Support Lot/Serial number tracking to ensure traceability and audit readiness

  • Identify obsolete, damaged, or expired devices and coordinate proper disposition following quality system and regulatory guidelines

  • Prepare inventory reports related to accuracy, trunk stock compliance, adjustments, and cycle count performance for management review

  • Assist in internal and external audits by providing inventory documentation and responding to audit findings as needed

  • Train staff in inventory procedures and best practices to ensure effective inventory management.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, field compliance, and operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or life sciences preferred

  • 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, logistics, or supply chain operations within a medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated industry

  • Demonstrated experience performing cycle counts and reconciling variances across warehouse and field‑based trunk stock inventories

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements impacting inventory management (e.g., FDA, ISO, GMP/QSR environments) preferred

  • Proficiency with ERP or inventory systems and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel or similar reporting tools

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage lot, serial, and expiration‑controlled products accurately

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with field sales teams, Operations, Quality, and Supply chain partners

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

  • Ability to lift and transport inventory items and work in warehouse or clinical environments as required

  • Knowledge of QAD or NetSuite ERP system recommended

Salary Range: $65,336 - $74,000 (Annual Base Salary)

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.

Employees in these roles will be issued a personal dosimetry badge to monitor occupational exposure and are required to wear it in accordance with company policy and applicable regulatory standards. This program is designed to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and to maintain radiation exposure at levels that are As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA). Additional guidance and protective equipment, as necessary, will be provided as part of onboarding and ongoing safety training.
