What you'll be doing:

At Avon, we're looking for an organized and proactive Inventory Supervisor to help ensure inventory is managed accurately, efficiently, and safely across our warehouse operations. In this role, you will oversee receiving and inventory processes, ensuring products are processed, stored, and made available for sale as quickly as possible while minimizing risk, reducing losses, and maintaining high levels of stock accuracy. Working closely with Planning, Finance, Quality, IT, and Warehouse teams, you will drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and compliance, while playing a key role in maintaining inventory integrity and supporting business performance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise the receiving area and ensure all delivered stock is processed in line with established receiving policies and procedures.
  • Partner closely with Planning teams to support inbound inventory activities and optimize warehouse operations.
  • Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives to meet booking, lead time, and turnaround time targets.
  • Support and oversee put-away activities to ensure inventory is accurately stored and readily available.
  • Monitor inventory systems and end-to-end process alignment to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Run inventory and exception reports, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate resolution with IT and other stakeholders.
  • Manage inventory risks across all stock-holding locations and ensure compliance with cycle counting processes and internal controls.
  • Support SOX controls, governance requirements, and inventory audit activities.
  • Ensure all receiving documentation is accurately completed and updated within warehouse management systems.
  • Work closely with Finance and Planning teams to ensure invoices are processed correctly and inventory transactions are reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Communicate stock shortages, overages, and receiving issues to relevant stakeholders and provide regular operational reporting.
  • Manage costs within the receiving function by aligning resources with delivery schedules and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with Planning teams to determine truck schedules and receiving capacity.
  • Create efficient receiving plans to support business needs while minimizing overtime and unnecessary costs.
  • Lead and support the annual wall-to-wall stock count process.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture and ensure compliance with warehouse safety policies and procedures.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and support corrective actions.
  • Partner with Quality teams to maintain high operational standards and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) and all relevant warehouse compliance standards.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Previous experience supervising or coordinating warehouse, receiving, or inventory-related activities.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control processes, stock accuracy, cycle counting, and stock reconciliation.
  • Experience working with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or inventory management tools.
  • Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Planning, Finance, Quality, and IT teams.
  • Knowledge of inventory governance, compliance requirements, and internal controls.
  • Understanding of warehouse safety practices and quality management standards.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Experience participating in or leading stock counts and inventory audits is preferred.
  • A degree or qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field is advantageous.
