The Inventory Analyst is responsible for monitoring and analyzing inventory across global manufacturing sites to support service, working capital, and cost objectives. This role partners closely with manufacturing sites and cross-functional teams to identify inventory risks and opportunities, recommend corrective actions, track progress, and escalate issues as needed to support achievement of inventory KPIs, including Days on Hand (DOH) and aging inventory targets.


This is an individual contributor role requiring strong analytical skills, disciplined follow-through, and the ability to challenge assumptions while driving accountability across cross-functional partners.

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Monitoring & Analysis:

  • Monitor finished goods, raw materials, and work-in-process inventory across global manufacturing sites (U.S., Ireland, Costa Rica, Mexico).
  • Analyze inventory trends using Tableau dashboards and Excel-based tools to identify high-risk, high-value, or aging inventory.
  • Support achievement of global inventory targets, including DOH (target of 64) and inventory reduction goals.
  • Track and report progress against actions and KPIs.

Inventory Reviews & Reconciliation:

  • Lead regular inventory review cadences with manufacturing sites and cross-functional partners.
  • Facilitate discussions to identify inventory root causes, risks, and mitigation actions.
  • Document site-specific actions, owners, and timelines; follow up to ensure completion.
  • Escalate missed commitments or risks promptly and clearly.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partners with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Purchasing, Global Sourcing, Finance, and Manufacturing to align inventory strategies.
  • Challenge assumptions related to forecast, supply plans, safety stock, and material strategies using data-driven analysis.
  • Provide clear summaries and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement:

  • Maintain and improve inventory reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools.
  • Recommend enhancements or consolidation of existing Tableau dashboards, support validation during future transition to Power BI.
  • Prepare clear, concise summaries and presentations for inventory performance reviews.

Qualifications:

Skills & Abilities (Must-Have):

  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, advanced formulas, data analysis).
  • Ability to organize, document, and track actions with discipline and follow-through.
  • Confidence to challenge assumptions, ask pointed questions, and request specific actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including summarizing complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to influence without authority and build relationships across global manufacturing sites.
  • Comfort escalating issues when progress stalls or risks increase.

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • Preferred: 2-5 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, manufacturing, or planning.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting inventory KPIs such as DOH, inventory turns, or excess and obsolete.
  • Experience working with global or multi-site manufacturing environments is a plus.

Systems & Tools:

  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Epicor, or Syteline is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
  • Strong comfort working with large datasets from multiple systems.

Nice to Have / Developmental:

  • Lean, Six Sigma, CPIM, or other continuous improvement certification.
  • Experience supporting or leading cross-functional operating cadences.
  • Exposure to inventory reduction or working capital initiatives.

What your background should look like

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
