What You’ll Do
Ensures adequate inventory of materials and products in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy. Conducts daily inventory analysis and provides monthly inventory turns, adjustments, and values to ensure good inventory management. Adjusts and implements inventory control procedures. Coordinates and manages daily physical counts, ensuring product is not out of date. Operates departmental computer hardware and software, reporting to leadership when issues arise and helps to find solutions. Monthly interaction with supply vendors and surgical and/or clinical personnel to handle transactions so product is available to meet customer needs, holding vendors accountable for checking consignment product expiration date and quantities. Maintains records required by regulatory agencies and policy guidelines (e.g. implant log with serial numbers, lot numbers and expiration dates). Provides documentation for root cause analysis (RCA). Coordinates the timely exchange of no cross and expired supplies with vendors to prevent loss. Coordinates conversion of new product into and out of inventory. Works with Inventory Analyst to obtain procedure codes for billing purposes. Ensures accurate billing practices are followed. Notifies appropriate personnel of implants that are credited more than 50% to support Medicare/Medicaid regulations. Cross-trains to assist other Inventory Specialists as requested or needed.
