The Inventory & Receiving Specialist ensures accurate, timely receiving, inventory control, and material flow for Anatometal, with a special focus on precious metals (gold) and gemstones. The role performs NetSuite (ERP) transactions, conducts cycle counts, issues gold to production under dual-control procedures, and supports gem ordering and replenishment. Success looks like near-perfect inventory accuracy, same-day receipts, tight gold custody, and clear communication with production, purchasing, and quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receiving & Inspection
• Receive incoming materials, compare packing slips and purchase orders with received items to verify accuracy.
• Inspection: Unpack and inspect incoming products for any damage or defects.
• Transact receipts in NetSuite (PO match/variance handling via Item Receipts) and stage materials to point-of-use.
• Sort, tag and properly store received items in designated areas.
Gold Chain of Custody
• Issue gold to production via dual sign-off, weigh-in/out, and NetSuite issues; log scrap and reclaim per SOP.
• Maintain secure storage, daily reconciliation, and audit documentation.
Inventory Control
• Execute cycle counts (NetSuite Inventory Count / adjustments), reconcile variances, perform root cause and corrective actions; maintain min/max and safety stock settings in NetSuite.
• Maintain labeling, bin locations, and 5S standards.
Gems Ordering & Replenishment
• Monitor reorder points and NetSuite demand signals; draft purchase requisitions and route to Purchasing; coordinate lead times, expedites, and substitutions.
ERP & Documentation
• Complete accurate, real-time NetSuite transactions (receipts, transfers, issues, adjustments) and produce audit trails/saved searches as needed.
• Maintain SOPs, logs, and metrics dashboards.
Collaboration & CI
• Partner with Production, QA, and Purchasing; escalate issues promptly.
• Identify and implement continuous-improvement ideas (waste reduction, accuracy, throughput).
• Perform other duties as assigned to support Operations, Supply Chain, or cross-functional priorities
SKILLS:
• Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Crucial for verifying shipments and maintaining inventory records
• Basic Computer Skills: Experience with ERP / inventory management software applications. NetSuite / RF-Smart experience a plus.
• Thorough understanding of warehouse procedures and regulations.
• Experienced in strategies to minimize loss (loss prevention) is helpful
• Communication Skills: Effective communication with team members, management, and vendors.
• Organization and Time Management: Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and keep the work area organized.
• Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• 2+ years in receiving/inventory control within manufacturing, distribution, or jewelry/precision environment.
• NetSuite proficiency in inventory transactions (Item Receipts, Inventory Transfers/Adjustments, Work Order Issue/Backflush or equivalent flows); ability to use saved searches/reports a plus.
• Experience with cycle counting, variance reconciliation, and basic root-cause analysis.
• Strong math, documentation, and communication skills; highly organized with attention to detail.
• Preferred: prior handling of precious metals and/or gemstones; familiarity with chain-of-custody
