Inventory Manager – Slotting
Location: Olive Branch, MS

The Inventory Manager – Slotting will drive optimal inventory positioning within each of the Distribution Centers, focusing on strategy development, execution to the strategy, and identifying areas for improvement and further optimization. This individual will be operationally responsible for supervising people conducting slotting functions, including, but not limited to, material setup in the Warehouse Management System (WMS), product slot setup & strategic maintenance, troubleshooting systems related to picking systems, location setup & maintenance, as well as overstock inventory positioning. Strategic responsibilities will include finding & implementing new strategies and processes related to standardization, inventory position optimization from storage to forward picks, data-based decision making, and team development.

Your Role on Our Team:

  • Supervise the Slotting team to ensure all slotting functions are performed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Develop, implement, and enforce new slotting procedures & corresponding maintenance plans, along with any sort of training material & support documentation
  • Analyze slotting strategies & determine gaps to efficiencies, customer experience, or long-term maintenance; Communicate Risk to plans, interpret operational impacts to changes and communicate to the larger business
  • Drive building slot performance metrics with reporting team & building leader, while identifying operational plans & strategies to help improve these metrics
  • Develop employees and cross train them in all areas of the department, while building business acumen throughout the organization
  • Work to improve inventory accuracy and warehouse process efficiency
  • Serve as Building Subject Matter Expert (SME) for data entry of all unit of measure requests, including but not limited to, new products on the inbound receiving dock, material errors & weight issues on the outbound shipping dock, and ad hoc requests concerning product data within the WMS; Work across multiple teams to help resolve material data & packaging issues in order to better serve the operation
  • Minimize slotting delays throughout the waving process across operational hours
  • Works closely with the Sr. Manager - Slotting to support network level strategy initiatives and help develop maintenance plans to execute to these strategies
  • Ability to pull basic slotting & material data (with supplemental help from analyst team) using SQL for reporting, project validation, large scale ad-hoc requests, etc..; Ability to process data in Excel for data visualization & processing requests
  • Committed to cross-functional collaboration with operations & other support teams
  • Detail-oriented, analytical with strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and changing priorities simultaneously.
  • Self-starter with initiative. Must be able to execute tasks with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Additional responsibilities as requested

The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

  • Requires a relevant College Degree or similar equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of WMS systems (preferably High Jump) & Configuration capabilities
  • Proven ability to use problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot issues
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (primarily Word, Excel, and SQL)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Product Units of Measure, Categories, and Classifications
