Job Description

The Inventory Manager provides leadership over inventory planning, inventory accuracy, material availability, and inventory optimization initiatives. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve inventory turnover, minimize stock shortages, and support business growth through effective inventory management practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute inventory management strategies that align with business objectives, operational requirements, and customer demand.
  • Establish and maintain inventory control standards, policies, and procedures to ensure inventory accuracy, accountability, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze inventory trends, demand forecasts, production schedules, and business requirements to determine appropriate inventory levels across all TAKKION locations.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Operations, Production, and Leadership teams to develop inventory plans that support project execution and organizational goals.
  • Monitor inventory performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory accuracy, turnover, stock availability, carrying costs, and obsolete inventory.
  • Evaluate inventory investments and make recommendations regarding stocking strategies, replenishment levels, material allocation, and inventory optimization opportunities.
  • Lead inventory planning activities for forecasted projects and operational initiatives to ensure material availability while balancing inventory costs.
  • Identify risks related to inventory shortages, excess inventory, material obsolescence, and supply chain disruptions and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze inventory reports, operational data, and financial impacts to provide recommendations that improve productivity, reduce costs, and support business performance.
  • Oversee physical inventory programs, cycle count processes, and audit activities to ensure compliance with company standards and inventory control objectives.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy and process effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain inventory management systems, reporting tools, and business processes that support informed decision-making and operational visibility.
  • Provide inventory performance updates, recommendations, and strategic insights to leadership regarding inventory trends, risks, opportunities, and operational impacts.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory management, warehouse operations, and supply chain effectiveness.
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop inventory personnel, providing direction, accountability, and performance feedback while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Assign, prioritize, and oversee inventory-related work activities to ensure departmental objectives and service expectations are achieved.
  • Ensure inventory storage practices comply with company safety standards, operational requirements, and asset protection objectives.
  • Participate in budgeting, inventory valuation reviews, and inventory-related financial planning activities.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field like supply chain management, business administration, or logistics
  • Two (2) – five (5) years of functional experience in Inventory Control, Logistics, or Warehouse Management.
  • Extensive knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team.
  • Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Self-starter with a drive for continuous improvement of the business operations.
  • Express willingness to step out of the box to assist other teams to meet and overcome challenges for the company.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting for approximately 75% of the time while working on a personal computer.
  • Occasionally lifting weights of fifty (50) pounds or less.
