Inventory Manager – Vertiv Letterkenny

Job Title: Inventory Manager
Location: Letterkenny, Co. Donegal
Department: Warehousing
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Role type: Part Time hours

Vertiv is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to lead inventory planning, control, and optimisation across our manufacturing facility in Letterkenny on a part time basis. This role is responsible for ensuring material availability to support production while minimising excess inventory and improving inventory accuracy, working capital, and overall supply chain performance.

The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, Engineering, Finance, and Global Supply Chain teams to ensure materials are available when needed while driving continuous improvement initiatives across inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimise stock levels while supporting production requirements.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities.
  • Analyse inventory trends, slow-moving and obsolete stock, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage inventory policies including safety stock, reorder points, and inventory parameters.
  • Collaborate with Production Planning and Purchasing to ensure uninterrupted material supply.
  • Drive improvements in inventory turnover, stock accuracy, and working capital performance.
  • Lead root cause investigations for inventory discrepancies and implement preventative actions.
  • Ensure ERP inventory records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor inventory KPIs and produce regular reports for senior management.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes from an inventory perspective.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve material shortages and excess inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with company inventory control procedures and audit requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and inventory flow.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Vertiv Operating System (VOS) principles.
  • Lead and develop inventory control personnel where applicable.

Desirable skillset

  • 5+ years' experience in Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Materials Management or Manufacturing Operations.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or similar).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
  • Experience leading inventory improvement projects.
