The Inventory Manager is responsible for forecasting, managing, and allocating room inventory across multiple properties and business segments to maximize occupancy, revenue, and yield performance This role partners closely with Revenue Management, Front Office, Reservations, and Property Leadership to analyze trends, optimize inventory strategy, and ensure all available rooms are effectively utilized.

This position plays a critical role in hotel and resort inventory management, supporting both short‑ and long‑term forecasting while balancing owner, rental, and marketing allocations across a diverse portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and maintain annual room inventory budgets for assigned resorts and properties.
  • Forecast resort and hotel occupancy for current and future years using historical data, booking trends, and market indicators.
  • Continuously refresh and adjust inventory allocations across owner, rental, marketing, and promotional segments.
  • Analyze booking pace, cancellations, demand trends, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Lead weekly forecast and inventory strategy calls with property leadership and revenue management teams.
  • Provide weekly occupancy and revenue reporting and insights to senior leadership.
  • Support escalated guest and owner reservation issues in partnership with call center supervisors and operations teams.
  • Create and maintain ad‑hoc Excel reports, dashboards, and analyses to support inventory and cross‑departmental decision‑making.
  • Collaborate closely with Front Office and Operations teams to manage occupancy projections, over‑booking risk, and operational impacts.
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure 100% utilization of available inventory and prevent unused room nights.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of inventory optimization and revenue goals.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management, revenue management, forecasting, or a related role within the hotel, resort, or timeshare industry.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Finance, Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (forecasting, reporting, data analysis).
  • Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple properties and competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven problem‑solving skills and ability to manage escalated or time‑sensitive situations.
  • Collaborative, proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
