Metrea is a defense company dedicated to translating commercial innovation into solutions for the hardest problems in national security. With deep mission expertise, Metrea focuses on delivering effects-as-a-service across Aerospace, Electromagnetic & Cyber, Digital & Synthetic domains via its capability groups. Metrea also consists of six support groups (Operations, People, Finance, Legal, Strategy and Solutions) that guide the development of specific capabilities that Metrea's files (product, projects, programs etc) leverage to achieve their targets.
Electromagnetic and Cyber Group (EM&C) is responsible for developing flexible and survivable advanced electronic warfare and secure communications equipment while providing the industry’s leading signals intelligence, electronic warfare, and cyber experts. Metrea specializes in signal classification, direction finding, advanced geolocation techniques, and waveform development including waveforms for MANET and LPI/LPD applications. Metrea also develops special purpose radios for government customers and licenses DF and geolocation solutions to multiple OEMs.
Reporting to the SHADOWLAB Lead Engineer, Electromagnetics and Cyber Group (EM&C), and supporting Metrea’s overall engineering efforts, the Inventory Manager will join our busy team specializing in state-of-the-art military communications and signals intelligence products. All our teams operate in a small agile environment which allows our engineering personnel to work independently on a wide variety of systems and products. Our mix of product development and R&D also provides our engineering staff with a constant flow of new and interesting projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Receive & Verify Material
Receive, inspect, and log engineering, production, and finished-goods material; verify quantities, part numbers, revisions, serials, and condition against documentation.
2. Maintain Inventory Accuracy & Traceability
Manage real-time inventory with full traceability (part number, revision, lot/serial, location) across development, production, and delivered hardware.
3. Support Engineering & Production Builds
Kit, stage, issue, and track material for R&D prototypes and production work orders while maintaining configuration and revision control.
4. Execute Shipping & Logistics
Package and ship outbound material and finished goods with correct labeling, documentation, and handling for customer, supplier, and internal shipments.
5. Control Revisions & Nonconforming Material
Enforce segregation of revisions, customer-specific configurations, and nonconforming material in coordination with Engineering and Quality.
6. Perform Audits & Drive Improvement
Conduct cycle counts and reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and improve inventory processes to support scale from development to production.
Skills and Experience
1. Engineering-Grade Configuration & Traceability Control
Demonstrated experience managing part numbers, revisions, serial/lot traceability, ECO impacts, and customer-specific configurations across R&D, low-rate production, and delivered hardware — with zero tolerance for commingling or loss of pedigree.
2. Ownership of Complex Material Flows
Proven ability to independently manage inbound, WIP, and outbound material for mixed environments (prototypes, spares, production builds, finished goods), including kitting, staging, shortages, nonconforming material, and high-urgency engineering requests.
3. Systems, Audits & Process Authority
Hands-on experience owning inventory systems and processes (ERP/MRP, PLM adjacency, or structured trackers), executing cycle counts and audits, resolving discrepancies at root cause, and building scalable SOPs that support growth without losing control.
Our Firmware
Metrea’s single core value, “rooted in humility,” is supported by four key attributes: entrepreneurial, systematic, discerning, and over-deliver.
