The opportunity:
The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2600+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy’s units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries. The Inventory Management Lead will play a vital role in ensuring effective inventory control and data accuracy across global operations. By collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders, this role will focus on minimizing excess inventory, standardizing processes, and improving data integrity within the organization. The Inventory Management Lead will provide actionable insights, optimize stock utilization, and drive alignment across plants worldwide, contributing to operational efficiency and strategic business objectives.
How you’ll make an impact:
Oversee inventory levels to reduce excess stock and ensure proper categorization (e.g., redeployment, true excess, disposition, or reservation). Monitor and track stock reassignment to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
Ensure accurate valuation of existing stock by auditing and validating inventory data. Collaborate with relevant teams to resolve discrepancies in material data across multiple locations.
Collaborate with the Item Master Team to maintain data accuracy and improve inventory-related processes.
Develop, document, and maintain work instructions or procedures for key SAP inventory transactions.
Work with plant teams to identify inefficiencies in inventory practices and recommend corrective actions.
Act as a central point of contact for inventory-related inquiries and facilitate coordination between global teams.
Provide support to plants by addressing inventory questions, aligning practices, and ensuring consistency across locations.
Develop and share reports on inventory performance, excess stock, and process improvements.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership based on inventory data analysis.

Your background:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
Must have 8+ years of experience in inventory or materials management, with a focus on process optimization and data accuracy.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across global teams and time zones.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Strong proficiency in SAP and inventory management principles.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
