Job Title: Head of Inventory - Lenskart
Lenskart seeks an experienced Head of Inventory to lead strategic inventory management across its omni-channel eyewear operations, optimizing stock for over 2,600 stores and online platforms.
Oversee end-to-end inventory control, from forecasting to replenishment, in a fast-growing vertically integrated eyewear retailer with centralized labs and automation. Drive cost efficiencies, minimize stockouts, and support sales growth through data-driven strategies. Report to supply chain leadership while collaborating with retail, procurement, and finance teams.
Develop and execute inventory strategies aligned with business goals, including demand forecasting, safety stock optimization, and multi-channel allocation for frames, lenses, and sunglasses.
Monitor stock levels using ERP systems, conduct cycle counts, and ensure 98%+ accuracy through automated alerts and physical audits.
Lead purchase order management, supplier evaluation, and negotiations to balance EOQ, reduce costs, and mitigate risks in Lenskart's supply chain.
Analyze sales data, trends, and KPIs (e.g., turns, fill rates, OTD) to forecast needs and report insights to senior management.
Supervise inventory teams, implement process improvements like automation and lean practices, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
Collaborate cross-functionally to handle eyewear-specific challenges, such as seasonal trends and just-in-time replenishment.
8-12 years in inventory or supply chain management, with 5+ years in strategic/leadership roles within retail or eyewear/optical sectors.
Proven track record in high-SKU environments, demand planning, and omni-channel retail operations.
Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Business, or related; MBA preferred.
Strong analytical skills with expertise in ERP/WMS, forecasting tools, and data analytics.
Expertise in inventory optimization techniques (min/max levels, ABC analysis, EOQ).
Leadership in team management, process standardization, and digital transformation projects.
Excellent stakeholder communication, problem-solving, and vendor management abilities.
Familiarity with retail KPIs and supply chain risks in fast-fashion-like categories like eyewear.
Candidates from strategic retail backgrounds (such as fashion, consumer goods, or eyewear) will be prioritized, especially those with experience in automated warehouses and phygital business models. We are also open to candidates with consulting experience in similar domains, provided they bring relevant exposure to retail, supply chain, or omnichannel transformations. Familiarity with Lenskart’s ecosystem—including in-house manufacturing and integrated operations—will be considered a strong advantage
