Hours: Monday-Friday 6am-4pm
Extended weekday hours and weekend OT may be required due to business needs.
Travel to other B.I.G. locations will be required for inventory counts as needed in Edmond, OK and North OKC
APMEX is seeking a detail-oriented Cycle Counter to join our warehouse operations team. This hourly position is responsible for conducting accurate physical counts of precious metals inventory, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting our commitment to operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
The day in the life of a Cycle Counter...
Inventory Counting & Verification
- Perform daily cycle counts of precious metals inventory including gold, silver, platinum, and palladium products
- Accurately count and verify product quantities against system records
- Conduct location audits to ensure proper product placement and organization
- Verify serial numbers, product codes, and SKUs during counting processes
- Complete assigned count sheets and documentation accurately and on time
Data Entry & System Maintenance
- Enter count data into warehouse management system with precision and accuracy
- Use handheld scanners and barcode equipment to record inventory transactions
- Update inventory records in real-time to maintain system accuracy
- Identify and report system discrepancies or data errors to supervisor
Discrepancy Resolution
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances between physical counts and system records
- Recount items when discrepancies are identified to ensure accuracy
- Document reasons for variances and communicate findings to inventory management
- Participate in root cause analysis to prevent future counting errors
Warehouse Support
- Assist with physical inventory counts during scheduled inventory events
- Support warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, and location maintenance as needed
- Help maintain clean, organized, and secure storage areas
- Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
Compliance & Safety
- Follow all security protocols for handling and counting high-value precious metals
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of inventory data and company information
- Follow safety guidelines and report any unsafe conditions or security concerns

QualificationsEducation:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of warehouse, inventory, or cycle counting experience required
- Previous experience in precious metals, jewelry, or high-value inventory environment preferred but not required
- Experience using handheld scanners or barcode equipment preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software
- Knowledge of precious metals products and grading preferred but not required
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Basic computer skills and ability to learn warehouse management systems
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift)
- Frequent bending, reaching, and climbing ladders to access inventory
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
- Visual acuity to read small print, serial numbers, and product codes
