Job Title: Inventory Controller

Location: Toronto, ON

UNIQLO Canada is seeking a proactive Inventory Controller to drive operational excellence and ensure optimal inventory levels across all stores in our expanding retail network. In this high-impact role, you will partner with In-Store Merchandising and Merchandise Planning teams to design and execute inventory allocation strategies that maximize sales and minimize excess stock. Leveraging advanced analytics and a collaborative mindset, you will analyze sales trends, develop actionable allocation plans, and deliver data-driven recommendations that directly support business growth. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, and is passionate about innovation in retail operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan inventory targets by setting budgets and defining standard stock levels by item and by store.
  • Develop and implement allocation plans to support annual, seasonal, monthly, and weekly sales goals, broken down by division and items
  • Create strategies for optimal allocation of all items and SKUs to ensure a full sales floor and minimal stockroom inventory.
  • Allocate optimal quantities by SKU and by store, balancing store sales capacity while avoiding over- or under-stocking.
  • Provide timelyinitial allocations and maintain stable inventory levels throughout each item’s lifecycle.
  • Plan and execute weekly store-to-store transfers to balance inventory levels and support sales needs.
  • Analyze weekly sales, verify inventory results, and collaborate with the Merchandise Planner s to develop action plans to improve performance.
  • Monitor and confirm which products are underperforming or not allocated as planned; recommend and implement countermeasures.
  • Suggest sales floor adjustments and weekly markdowns or promotions to increase sales or move at-risk inventory.
  • Set up and maintain store inventory planning systems to ensure accurate, automated allocation.
  • Collaborate with In-Store Merchandising teams to design layouts that achieve sales targets.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to organizational success.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Mathematics (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in inventory allocation (required).
  • 1-2 years of previous retail experience (preferred).
  • Strong passion for fashion and customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Quick learner with a high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
  • Logical thinker with strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (experience with Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP required).
  • Strong computer skills: data entry or data mining experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • Flexible schedule to support business needs.

Annual Salary:  $87,000 - $92,000 CAD

The salary range is based on several factors, including but not limited to overall experience, relevant experience, education level, certifications, applicable skills and expertise, and the position location.
