Job Description

General Purpose

Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels in a plant, warehouse, store, or other department. Receive, inspect, verify, store, and inventory the incoming products. Verify and post transactions of inventory products. Perform inventory audits and report any discrepancies or issues. Demonstrate proficiency in using inventory software.

Job Duties and ResponsibilitiES

  • Verify the accuracy of the inventory records
  • Monitor and update inventory records using inventory software
  • Order and receive supplies from vendors and verify invoices and packing slips
  • Conduct physical counts and audits of inventory items and reconcile discrepancies
  • Identify and report inventory issues, such as shortages, damages, or excesses
  • Prepare and distribute inventory reports and summaries to management and other departments
  • Coordinate with other departments or vendors on inventory issues or requests
  • Ensure compliance with inventory policies and procedures and safety standards
  • Perform inventory audits and inspections
  • Assist with inventory-related tasks, such as labeling, sorting, packing, and shipping
  • Ensure the inventory area is clean, organized, and safe

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of inventory control, warehousing, administrative, or related experience
  • Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency with inventory management software
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Solid attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to perform task and duties without constant supervision
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
