As a Cycle Counter, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management processes. You will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts of our raw materials, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods within the manufacturing plant. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining precise inventory records will directly contribute to our ability to meet production targets and fulfill customer orders accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cycle counts of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods in accordance with established procedures.
- Utilize inventory management systems and tools to accurately record inventory levels, adjustments, and discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure inventory accuracy and availability to support production schedules.
- Conduct periodic audits to verify the integrity of inventory data and processes.
- Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in designated inventory storage areas.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in inventory management is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or related field within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and proficiency in using computer applications such as Microsoft Excel.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and practices is advantageous.
Physical Demands:
1. Walking and Standing: The cycle counter will be required to walk and stand for extended periods while conducting inventory counts throughout the manufacturing plant.
2. Lifting and Carrying: Occasionally, the cycle counter may need to lift and carry inventory items, which could range in weight from light to moderately heavy.
3. Bending and Stooping: The cycle counter may need to bend and stoop to access inventory stored on lower shelves or in confined spaces within the manufacturing facility.
4. Reaching and Stretching: Inventory may be stored on shelves or racks at varying heights, requiring the cycle counter to reach and stretch to access items for counting.
5. Pushing and Pulling: In some cases, the cycle counter may need to push or pull carts or equipment containing inventory items during the counting process.
6. Using Handheld Devices: The cycle counter will use handheld devices or scanners to record inventory counts, requiring fine motor skills and dexterity.
7. Writing and Documentation: Some inventory counts may require manual documentation, including writing down counts or recording data on paper or in electronic systems.
8. Repetitive Motions: The cycle counter will engage in repetitive motions such as counting, scanning, and data entry throughout the inventory counting process.
9. Physical Agility: The cycle counter should be physically agile and able to maneuver safely around the manufacturing plant, including navigating through aisles, around machinery, and in busy work areas.
10. Attention to Safety: The cycle counter must adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing physical duties, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
