Job Description



The Inventory Control Clerk assists management with inventory control to ensure inventory accuracy, material availability, and efficient warehouse operations. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory integrity throughout the warehouse, processing inventory transactions, and supporting production planning through job creation and Bill of Materials (BOM) maintenance. The Inventory Control Clerk works closely with Operations, Purchasing, and Production to support on-time customer delivery and accurate inventory management.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Research, investigate, and reconcile inventory discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Process inventory transactions within SyteLine, including material receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments, and quantity moves.
  • Conduct soft material transactions in the system and update physical materials and/or bin locations with current information.
  • Maintain accurate bin locations, and ensure all locations are properly identified and labeled.
  • Ensure inventory items and SKUs are accurately identified using barcode labels.
  • Record in the system (SyteLine) all material consumption for Work in Process (WIP) that does not automatically backflush.
  • Participate in physical inventory, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
  • Perform routine warehouse audits to verify inventory accuracy and storage compliance.
  • Coordinate the identification, tracking, and disposition of slow-moving and obsolete (SLOB) inventory.
  • Create production jobs in SyteLine based on customer demand and inventory requirements. 
  • Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate material planning and production execution.
  • Support warehouse operations and assist other departments as needed to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills
  • Understanding of inventory control principles, warehouse operations, and material flow.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions, procedures, and quality documentation.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn and utilize ERP systems, including SyteLine.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of production planning, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and inventory transactions.
  • Ability to operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Education
  • Required: High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

Work Experience
  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of inventory experience.
  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of sit-down forklift experience.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of clerical experience.​​​​​​​

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and lifting while performing warehouse activities.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment.
  • Good visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors for inventory identification and labeling.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and occasional outdoor conditions.
