Your Role at KIK

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting inventory control processes within a manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, finance, customer service, and third-party warehouse providers to ensure inventory accuracy, timely reporting, and efficient material management. Key responsibilities include cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, production reporting, physical inventory coordination, and analysis of inventory trends and discrepancies. The Inventory Specialist also supports continuous improvement initiatives, ERP system transactions, and compliance with company and customer inventory requirements while helping drive operational efficiency and inventory accuracy across the plant.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and administer the cycle count program, including analyzing results, identifying discrepancies, and leading continuous improvement (CI) initiatives with cross-functional teams
  • Prepare and provide customers with required inventory reports, reconciliations, and production transaction updates through customer online systems
  • Audit, investigate, and correct production reporting discrepancies and inventory adjustments to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Coordinate and support physical inventory activities, including planning, execution, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Analyze slow-moving and obsolete inventory, develop reports, and lead initiatives focused on inventory reduction, clean-up, and prevention strategies
  • Track, analyze, and report inventory-related metrics and trends to support operational performance and continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain accurate perpetual inventory records for regulated and government-controlled materials, including specific tank inventory management
  • Manage production and inventory usage records for third-party manufacturing and warehouse locations
  • Oversee inventory transactions, records, and billing processes for materials stored at third-party warehouses
  • Provide transactional support, troubleshooting, and system training to cross-functional teams utilizing JD Edwards (JDE), SAP, and related systems
  • Investigate and resolve inventory balancing and reconciliation issues in a timely manner
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies and reserve requirements to plant controllers and leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Support plant operations and other functional departments with inventory-related analysis and reporting
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, or Operations preferred
  • 3 or more years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Experience in manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or production environments preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or JD Edwards (JDE) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while managing multiple priorities
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across operations, finance, and supply chain teams

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, or Operations preferred
  • 3 or more years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Experience in manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or production environments preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or JD Edwards (JDE) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while managing multiple priorities
