Job Description

This role is responsible for driving implementation of Ichor’s Alternate Parts (Supersession) program, improving Phantom part mitigation and excess inventory, and supporting and executing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

The position plays a critical role in reducing excess & obsolete (E&O) inventory, improving material consumption, and enabling scalable, system-driven inventory transitions. This individual will work closely with the Singapore Inventory Control analyst, cross-functional teams including Engineering, Planning, Operations, and Finance, and partner directly with global team members to drive execution and continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities

1. Alternate Parts / Supersession Program

  • Support implementation and manage the Alternate Material (Supersession) process to improve material consumption and reduce excess inventory
  • Help transition from manual/spreadsheet-based tracking to system-driven (Oracle/MRP) processes
  • Analyze material usage scenarios including burn-down / phase-in transitions and direct alternate parts
  • Partner with Planning and Engineering to ensure proper alternate part setup in BOMs and accurate MRP signals for both primary and alternate materials
  • Support development of reporting and visibility tools for material health and transition tracking
  • Own the identification and resolution of phantom inventory exposure
  • Analyze inventory and identify alternates to determine appropriate reclassification or disposition strategies to minimize excess
  • Partner with Logistics, Procurement, and Planning teams to execute reclassification actions and manage open supply impacts
  • Track progress and drive accountability while identifying opportunities to standardize and improve phantom inventory processes

2. Phantom-driven Excess Mitigation

3. ECO (Engineering Change Order) Management

  • Work with Singapore teammate to review and ensure proper disposition and execution of ECOs and ECRs
  • Coordinate cross-functional alignment on ECO implementation plans
  • Validate impact of ECOs on Inventory, Work orders, and Supply/demand balance
  • Ensure clean ECO closure with minimal excess inventory exposure

4. E&O Mitigation (in partnership with global team)

  • Partner with global stakeholders (including Gee Wong) to:
    • Identify excess inventory risks early
    • Support mitigation strategies (rework, reclass, transfer, scrap)
  • Analyze root causes of excess inventory and support corrective actions
  • Participate in cross-functional reviews to drive accountability and resolution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Analytics, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in supply chain, planning, inventory control, or manufacturing
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment

Preferred

  • Experience with ECO processes, BOM structures, or change management
  • Familiarity with MRP systems (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
  • Exposure to alternate materials, part supersession, or inventory transitions
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams

Skills & Expertise

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, very comfortable with Excel
  • Ability to interpret data and translate into actionable insights, prefer experience with BI/reporting tools
  • Solid understanding of MRP, supply/demand planning, and inventory control
  • Effective communication and ability to work across teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Core Competencies

  • Problem Solving: Breaks down complex material and system issues
  • Execution: Drives tasks to completion with accuracy and accountability
  • Collaboration: Works effectively across global and cross-functional teams
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifies and implements process improvements

About Ichor Systems, Inc.

We are a leader in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of critical fluid delivery subsystems and components for semiconductor capital equipment. Our product offerings include gas and chemical delivery systems and subsystems, collectively known as fluid delivery systems and subsystems, which are key elements of the process tools used in the manufacturing of semiconductor devices. Our gas delivery subsystems deliver, monitor, and control precise quantities of the specialized gases used in semiconductor manufacturing processes such as etch and deposition. Our chemical delivery systems and subsystems precisely blend and dispense the reactive liquid chemistries used in semiconductor manufacturing processes such as chemical-mechanical planarization, electroplating, and cleaning. We also provide precision-machined components, weldments, e‑beam and laser-welded components, precision vacuum and hydrogen brazing and surface treatment technologies, and other proprietary products. This vertically integrated portion of our business is primarily focused on metal and plastic parts that are used in gas and chemical systems, respectively.

We are strategically located to provide the highest level of customer service and support from our program management, sales, engineering, and executive management teams. Ichor is headquartered in Fremont, California, and we have production facilities in California, Oregon, Texas, Nevada, Minnesota, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Mexico, and the UK, staffed by our 2000+ team members.
