Performs clerical, administrative, inventory, and field support activities for the Office of Fleet Services (OFS), Asset Management Office. Responsible for supporting the City's asset management process throughout the asset lifecycle, including the commissioning of assets upon acquisition, maintaining accurate asset records, tracking and updating asset information, decommissioning assets identified for retirement, and coordinating the disposition of retired assets.
Duties include, but are not limited to, commissioning newly acquired fleet vehicles, equipment, and other assets; maintaining and updating asset records; entering and verifying information in computerized asset management systems; coordinating the movement and staging of retired assets; preparing documentation for asset disposition; communicating and coordinating with retired asset vendors; conducting physical inspections and inventories of assets; traveling between City facilities and work sites; and assisting with the timely movement of assets through the asset lifecycle.
Work may require outdoor field activities, extended periods of standing or walking, operation of City vehicles and equipment as authorized, and evening, weekend, or holiday assignments based on operational needs.
Works under general supervision. Work methods and assignment results are typically reviewed by a more experienced professional, supervisor, or manager prior to final action.
Uses independent judgment within established policies, procedures, and guidelines to complete assigned duties and resolve routine operational issues. Follows standardized procedures, written instructions, and established Asset Management practices to ensure accurate and timely processing of fleet assets throughout the asset lifecycle.
Leadership Provided: None. May provide direction to temporary, contract, or vendor personnel as needed to facilitate assigned work activities.

Position would be expected to have licensure or professional certifications appropriate to the position. Required: Valid Georgia driver’s license
Required physical and sensory capabilities to perform the job successfully. Typical environmental conditions associated with office work and in-person reporting at least 4-5 days per week. Must be able to walk/stand/bend/sit for long periods. May experience excessive noise. Work indoors and outdoors. Schedule shift may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
