Job Description

  • Maintain accurate inventory records by entering receipts, transfers, and adjustments promptly.
  • Assist with regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks; investigate and report discrepancies.
  • Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming stock in designated storage areas.
  • Pick and prepare materials for orders or internal requests, following documentation and handling procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and flag low, excess, or damaged inventory to the appropriate team member.
  • Keep inventory areas clean, organized, and compliant with workplace safety requirements.
  • Support inventory reporting and help identify ways to improve accuracy and stockroom efficiency.
  • Coordinate daily inventory activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, issuing, transfers, and returns.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the inventory management system; research and resolve complex discrepancies.
  • Lead or perform cycle counts and physical inventories, analyze variances, and document corrective actions.
  • Monitor stock levels, identify risks of shortages or excess stock, and escalate replenishment needs.
  • Inspect incoming materials for quantity, condition, and documentation accuracy; resolve receiving issues with suppliers or internal teams.
  • Ensure materials are properly identified, stored, and handled according to safety, quality, and traceability requirements.
  • Prepare inventory reports and communicate trends, exceptions, and operational concerns to supervisors and other departments.
  • Train and guide less experienced inventory staff on procedures, system use, and safe material handling.
  • Recommend improvements to inventory workflows, recordkeeping, storage practices, and inventory accuracy.
  • Support audits by preparing records, reconciling inventory data, and following up on findings.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, production, and operations teams to meet material requirements.
  • Follow established procedures for handling damaged, obsolete, excess, or restricted materials.
  • Plan and control finished goods inventory to meet sales demand while balancing availability and stock levels.
  • Analyze inventory levels and positioning, along with planned production and sales forecasts, to identify potential shortages, surpluses, and required adjustments.
  • Maintain and update the weekly production schedule based on inventory requirements, sales demand, forecast changes, and production capacity.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Production, and other stakeholders to communicate schedule changes and support timely order fulfillment.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous warehouse or inventory experience preferred.
  • Experience using ERP or inventory management software preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification may be required.
  • Ability to work independently an as part of a team.
