Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory & Procurement Specialist to support material availability and inventory performance across our operations. This role combines purchasing execution with inventory control responsibilities, ensuring that materials are available to meet production demands while maintaining accurate and optimized inventory levels.

This position works as part of a team of specialists sharing ownership of suppliers, materials, and inventory performance.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Create, manage, and track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, lead times, and issues
  • Expedite materials to prevent production disruptions
  • Support cost, lead time, and MOQ improvements

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and system transactions
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Monitor stock levels and adjust min/max or safety stock as needed
  • Identify and manage excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory
  • Ensure proper material flow and transaction accuracy

Material Planning & Coordination

  • Align purchasing activity with production schedules and demand
  • Ensure material availability to support operational needs
  • Balance inventory levels with service requirements
  • Partner with production, warehouse, and leadership to resolve material issues

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems
  • Proficiency in Excel or similar data tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices (cycle counting, root cause analysis)
  • Supplier management or negotiation experience

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Inventory accuracy
  • Material availability / stockouts
  • Supplier on-time delivery
  • Inventory turns and excess inventory levels
