The Industrial Material Inventory Analyst is responsible for optimizing industrial material inventory across plants while ensuring compliance with Ford's inventory management and financial guidelines. The role serves as a key link between plant operations, engineering, purchasing, finance, and MP&L teams to drive inventory efficiency, governance, and cost control. This is a end to end role in Industrial material space.
Key Deliverables Ensure Plants operate with optimal level of Inventory for Machine spares & Consumables with NIL risk to production
Assess Demand/Consumption trends and ensure procurement orders and In-plant stocks are in line with changing demand
Drive for collaborative working between plants on optimized Purchase & reuse of IM Spares
Drive reduction in Industrial Material Inventory in all Plants by achieve actuals in line with Budget
Use New Age tools to drive process efficiencies & Innovation
Ordering & Controls Review daily work chain for stock replenishment based on part usage, lead time, pricing, order on request, safety stock, pack qty, Minimum order quantity, etc…
Review Back Order request & RQ Mailbox on daily basis & prioritize with respective teams
Daily review of Critical Items & High Value Items. Ensure the variance or reduction in Stock was getting clarified with Plant teams for Replenishment
Govern the Items & make the changes as per the requirement from Plant like Delete W/U (Where Used), Master Catalog Control changes, Part Status Changes etc.
Request quotation from Vendors / requestors for new parts & new programs. Place initial orders to full fill safety stock requirements
Follow up with supplier on past due orders & amend Promise Date in line with Supplier response. Update requestors on shipment arrivals and Contact purchasing to expedite Purchase orders / RFQs/ Deliveries. Escalate & seek support on potential delays and enable compliance to plan
Support Plant-to-Plant Transfer Requests
Provide shipment status to plants on all open orders & amend the procurement requests based on changing demand
Constantly Interact with Plant shop floor Managers to get the pulse of Material requirement and ensure Material stock and orders in pipeline are aligned to requirement
Inventory
Efficiencies Work with plants to scrap / sell unused parts to 3rd party / Sell to alternate Ford plants to drive reduction in Inventory & save space
Coordinate between Plants & Purchasing to drive common source procurement & support reduction in procurement costs, thereby Inventory
Deliver Inventory actuals In line with Budget & support with any efficiencies that may be tasked
System
Improvements Develop Excel Macro tools that track and monitor Industrial Material consumption/ demand trends and suggest procurement strategies that enables plants to operate Just in time
Use New age tools (PEGA, Alteryx, R, Python, SQL etc..) to simplify processes and drive improvements/innovation through Predictive approach
Governance &
Report out Ensure Monthly Governance of all Inventory input variables and report out on key
