THE ROLE

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the Inventory Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting inventory accounting and financial reporting activities across all company locations. This position performs a variety of accounting, inventory control, and administrative functions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory records, financial data, and operational reporting. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with multiple systems, departments, and locations to support daily business operations and accounting requirements. The Inventory Accounting Clerk plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, processing system transactions, generating routine financial reports, and ensuring the timely completion of accounting-related processes in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile cycle count transactions for all company locations, ensuring inventory records are accurate and discrepancies are promptly investigated and resolved.
• Process inventory adjustments for all locations, including reviewing supporting documentation and validating entries within applicable accounting and ERP systems.
• Process daily "End of Day" activities, including the finalization and validation of customer invoices across all company locations.
• Execute and monitor daily jobstreams and automated processes to support financial reporting requirements and ensure timely system completion.
• Execute and monitor monthly jobstreams and reporting processes in support of month-end accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Create, validate, and import SAP journal entries for inventory removal transactions on a daily basis, including completion of all required ERP system processes and controls.
• Compile operational and accounting data and prepare the Daily1 report for ABS management, providing timely and accurate reporting on daily operational status.
• Review inventory-related transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory accounting and financial reporting.
• Maintain organized records and supporting documentation for inventory transactions, reports, journal entries, and accounting activities.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, customer service, and accounting personnel to resolve inventory discrepancies and support business objectives.
• Provide administrative support for inventory accounting functions, including report generation, document management, and system maintenance activities.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance data accuracy.
• Perform additional tasks as required by the Accounting Department and other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high degree of accuracy in data entry, reporting, and transaction processing.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Working knowledge of standard office equipment, including scanners, copiers, printers, and related business technology.
• Ability to learn and utilize accounting, inventory management, and reporting systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive business information appropriately.
• Commitment to following established procedures, internal controls, and company policies.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an office, administrative, accounting support, or business environment required.
• Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.
• Inventory, accounting, financial reporting, or data processing experience is a plus.

Expected pay for this role is between $42,600.00 to $63,800.00 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
