Job Description

As the Intranet Content Specialist, you will support the effectiveness, governance, and continuous improvement of Midco's intranet by implementing content management, knowledge organization, and governance practices established by leadership. You will partner with stakeholders across the organization to support content needs, maintain information quality, and help ensure information remains accessible, accurate, and easy to find. Using user feedback, analytics, and business insights, you will contribute recommendations that support the ongoing evolution of Midco's digital workplace experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain information architecture, taxonomy, metadata and navigation structures to promote consistent and user-focused experience.
  • Collaborate with content owners and stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify needs and support implementation of approved content and knowledge management solutions.
  • Manage content requests from intake through implementation, using independent judgment to evaluate content priorities, user needs and operational impacts; prioritize work, resolve issues and provide recommendations to leadership to ensure timely, high-quality execution.
  • Organize, structure, curate and maintain intranet content and organizational knowledge assets to ensure information remains accurate, relevant, accessible and aligned with governance standards.
  • Maintain documentation, content inventories, governance records and process materials to support consistency, compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Manage the lifecycle of intranet content and knowledge assets, including creation, review, maintenance, archival and retirement, while applying approved taxonomy, metadata and navigation standards to improve discoverability and usability.
  • Conduct content audits and validate content additions, updates and structural changes to ensure alignment with governance, accessibility, search optimization and information quality standards.
  • Analyze user feedback, content performance metrics, intranet analytics and stakeholder needs to identify trends, measure effectiveness and recommend improvements to content governance, user experience, platform usability and team member engagement.
  • Support the evaluation and adoption of AI-enabled tools, emerging technologies and innovative content practices that improve content management and digital workplace effectiveness.
  • Partner with leadership to research, develop and present recommendations for content enhancements, governance improvements and digital workplace initiatives.
  • Remain current on intranet platform capabilities, digital workplace trends, content strategy best practices and advancements in AI and emerging technologies through ongoing professional development.
  • Model Midco’s mission, vision, values, ethos, and Leadership Success Drivers, and inspire others to do the same.
  • Ensure customer privacy by adhering to Midco’s privacy guidelines while actively following Midco policies and procedures.
  • Maintain reliable and predictable attendance as required by the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience creating, editing, organizing and maintaining digital content in an intranet, website, knowledge base, content management system or similar digital workplace platform.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading and content organization skills with the ability to translate business needs into clear, user-focused content.
  • Basic understanding of information architecture, navigation, accessibility, and digital content management concepts, with a willingness to learn governance, metadata and search optimization practices.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools or a willingness to learn and apply emerging technologies in support of content management and digital workplace practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in information systems, knowledge management, user experience, communications, technical writing, digital media, business or a related field,
  • Knowledge of telecommunications products, processes and offerings.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems, digital workplace platforms such as Unily, Microsoft 365 tools, SharePoint or similar technologies preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic web technologies, HTML and CSS, and an understanding of how they support digital content presentation and user experience preferred.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
  • Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment and/or remote work setting, depending on business needs.
  • May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.

  • May occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • May be required to remain in a seated position for extended periods.
  • May occasionally lift or move items such as materials, equipment, or supplies.
  • Heavy keyboard/mouse usage required with repetitive movements.
