We are seeking an Intraday Power Trader to join our partner, who is excelling in the energy segment as they expand rapidly
Location: Budapest + Flexible Home Office options

We are looking for an experienced I ntraday Power Trader to support and optimize
trading activity in the Hungarian short-term electricity market, with a focus on intraday
continuous trading (XBID) and day-ahead markets.
The role combines intraday power trading expertise with automated execution, using
an algorithmic trading platform to support trading decisions, improving execution and
enhance portfolio optimization.
This is primarily a trading role with algorithmic tools, suited for professionals who
understand market dynamics and are interested in leveraging automation to improve
trading performance.
-Shift-based work (morning and afternoon rotations) is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Intraday Trading and Algorithmic Execution
-Operate and optimize trading activity in the Hungarian intraday power market
using an algorithmic trading platform.
- Monitor automated trading activity and intervene when market conditions
require adjustments.
- Support the identification and execution of arbitrage opportunities and shortterm optimization strategies across market timeframes.
- Contribute to the refinement of trading logic and execution parameters within
the algorithmic setup.
Market Monitoring and Trading Decisions
 Monitor short-term market fundamentals, including:
o demand deviations
o renewable production changes
o system conditions and balancing signals
o market prices and liquidity conditions
o relevant TSO publications and market information
 Support trading decisions aimed at portfolio balancing, cost optimization and
profitability improvement.
Collaboration with Data Analytics
 Work closely with the Data Analytics function to incorporate quantitative signals
and market inputs into trading decisions.
 Provide practical market feedback to support continuous improvement of
algorithmic strategies.
Risk and Portfolio Management
 Monitor open intraday positions and support exposure management.
 Contribute to risk controls related to automated trading activity.
 Participate actively in the continuous improvement of intraday trading
strategies.
REQUIREMENTS
 University degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or related
field.
 2+ years of experience in electricity trading, energy procurement or short-term
power markets.
 Good understanding of intraday electricity markets and balancing mechanisms.
 Strong analytical mindset and interest in algorithmic trading tools.
 Advanced Excel skills required; Python or other programming knowledge is a
strong advantage.
 Professional English (written and spoken).
