As an Interventional Vascular Technologist, you will provide technicalassistancein performing diagnostic and interventional procedures. Some of your responsibilities will includeacquiringimages, processingimagesand providingemergency oncallassistance
A caregiver in this positionworksdays|7:30am—6:00pm| offering (4) 10-hr shifts which includes every other weekend.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Utilize sterile or aseptictechniqueto scrub in and perform vascular,interventional,and surgical procedures per protocol.
Educate patientsregardingprocedures,equipment,and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams.
Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast druginteractionsand major effects.
Record andmaintainprocedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopictimeand procedural information.
Monitor equipment, systems, cleanequipment,and effectstimelyrepair.
Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduateofan accredited school of radiologic technology
Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing
Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
Knowledge of radiologic physics and computerized vascular equipment,so as tosafely inject and image human vascular anatomy.
Thorough knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathologysufficientto apply to interventional and diagnostic exams.
Must be knowledgeable of steriletechniquewithabilityto create andmaintainsterileenvironment.
Ability to function well with minimal to no supervision, especially duringafter hourscall-in emergency service.
