As an Interventional Vascular Technologist, you will provide technicalassistancein performing diagnostic and interventional procedures. Some of your responsibilities will includeacquiringimages, processingimagesand providingemergency oncallassistance

A caregiver in this positionworksdays|7:30am—6:00pm| offering (4) 10-hr shifts which includes every other weekend.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Utilize sterile or aseptictechniqueto scrub in and perform vascular,interventional,and surgical procedures per protocol.

  • Educate patientsregardingprocedures,equipment,and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.

  • Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams.

  • Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast druginteractionsand major effects.

  • Record andmaintainprocedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopictimeand procedural information.

  • Monitor equipment, systems, cleanequipment,and effectstimelyrepair.

  • Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduateofan accredited school of radiologic technology

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing

  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

  • Knowledge of radiologic physics and computerized vascular equipment,so as tosafely inject and image human vascular anatomy.

  • Thorough knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathologysufficientto apply to interventional and diagnostic exams.

  • Must be knowledgeable of steriletechniquewithabilityto create andmaintainsterileenvironment.

  • Ability to function well with minimal to no supervision, especially duringafter hourscall-in emergency service.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
