The Interventional Vascular Technologist collaborates closelywith VascularSurgeons and an experienced interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care during minimally invasive vascular procedures.This is an exciting opportunity for an X-ray Technologist who enjoys working in a dynamic settingwereclinicalexpertise, critical thinking, adaptability, and teamwork are valued.
The ideal candidatedemonstratesstrong communicationskills, including effective closed-loop communication, and is committed to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. Prior interventional vascular experience is preferred, but we welcome motivated new graduates who are eager to learn and grow.
A caregiver in this positionworksM-F| varying shifts|shared on-call rotationrequired, including approximately one primary call shift and one secondary call shift per week, with weekend callapproximately everysixth weekend.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Utilize sterile or aseptictechniqueto scrub in and perform vascular,interventional,and surgical procedures per protocol.
Educate patientsregardingprocedures,equipment,and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams.
Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast druginteractionsand major effects.
Record andmaintainprocedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopictimeand procedural information.
Monitor equipment, systems, cleanequipment,and effectstimelyrepair.
Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduateofan accredited school of radiologic technology
Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing
Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography: R.T.(R)(CV)(ARRT) or Vascular-Interventional Radiology: R.T.(R)(VI)(ARRT)
Prior CT (Computed Tomography) experience
Comfortable interpreting cross-sectional anatomy during procedures
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
