Under the direction of a radiologist or physician performs advanced procedures including Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery and Neuro endovascular surgery. This multi-specialty position requires the team member to be cross-trained in all areas. The technologist will perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of ionizing radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Essential Functions

Performs all advanced procedures proficiently and strives to maintain high quality.
Assists Radiologists and/or Physician with invasive procedures using aseptic/sterile technique.
Properly prepares and administers contrast materials associated with imaging procedures that are within the scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or in approved Radiology protocol.
Prepares room for procedures using approved cleaning protocol. Appropriately discards sharps and maintains adequate level of supplies and linen.
Ensures the implementation of appropriate radiation safety protocols.
Implements emergency procedures, as needed.
Performs department and hospital related computer functions pertinent to job. Enters and records data accurately and promptly. Exhibits competency in performing QC tasks associated with equipment and procedures and ensures standards are met according to state and federal regulations.
Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.
Participates independently in call rotation.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
Experience - One (1) year experience in I nterventional Radiology, Cath Lab, or Diagnostic Radiology. May consider clinical rotations during a formal educational program as experience.

Registered in primary modality within 18 months
ARRT registered
SCRQSA certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina)
BLS certification

Mathematical skills
Epic radiant experience preferred
