Job Description

AMI Expeditionary Healthcare LLC (AMI) is seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Radiologist to provide on-site clinical services at the Syracuse VA Medical Center. The physician will perform a broad range of image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while providing comprehensive patient care in accordance with VA clinical guidelines and American College of Radiology (ACR) standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of interventional radiology procedures, including:
  • Image-guided biopsies, drainages, and catheter placements
  • Vascular access and interventions, including angioplasty, stenting, and thrombolysis
  • Embolization procedures
  • Dialysis access management
  • Paracentesis and thoracentesis
  • Biliary interventions
  • Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care
  • Complete consults, procedures, and clinical documentation in a timely manner
  • Participate in on-call coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Provide on-call phone consultations to VA physicians
  • Provide supplemental on-site clinical coverage as needed
  • Provide backup coverage and maintain continuity of care
  • Document patient care in the VA electronic health record (EHR)
  • Follow VA policies and directives, HIPAA requirements, and ACR practice standards
  • Communicate test results and treatment plans effectively with patients and healthcare teams
  • Collaborate with VA physicians, residents, and clinical staff
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Interventional Radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR)
  • Active, unrestricted New York medical license
  • Current DEA registration
  • Valid National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in interventional radiology procedures
  • Strong clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to successfully complete the AMI Credentialing Process
