Our “E‑Drive Development, Power Electronics & Transmission” division within Group Components, located in Kassel, Wolfsburg, and Gaimersheim, is responsible for the development of all future pulse inverters (PWR) for electric drive systems across the Volkswagen Group. Possible tasks within this role


  • Supporting various development topics in the areas of power electronics design and simulation

  • Developing and validating circuit and system models for power electronic systems and electric drive units

  • Analyzing and evaluating innovative control strategies for pulse inverters, including assessment and visualization of measurement and simulation data

  • Enhancing design tools and implementing subcomponent models

  • Working with AI methods (supervised/unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning)

Qualification requirements


  • Master’s students or Bachelor’s students (≥ 89 credit points) in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Control Engineering, or comparable fields of study

  • Good to very good academic performance

  • Knowledge in the fields of power electronics or electric drive systems

  • First experience with relevant software such as MATLAB/Simulink or LTspice is an advantage

  • German and English language level B2
