Internship - Tax

$20.50 per hour | In Person reporting to Duluth, MN

What you'll do

• Collaborate with a variety of ALLETE Tax staff members to complete projects relevant to the day-to-day operations of the organization
• Potential projects may include, but are not limited to:
• Preparation of income tax and sales tax returns
• Preparation of monthly tax entries
• Assist with regulatory reporting
• Assist with audit support
• Maintenance and documentation of new or existing financial controls

What you'll bring

• Must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting.
• Students participating in an accelerated bachelor’s-to-master’s (4+1) program who are completing both undergraduate and graduate level coursework will be considered.
• Have an expected graduation date between May 2028 and December 2029.
• This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.

How to stand out

• Have strong computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite Skills (i.e. Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills
• Have the ability to work with a variety of people in changing situations

Details & Duration of Internship

• This internship will be reporting in person to Duluth, MN
• This role is anticipated to begin May 2027 and continue to May 2028
• The internship will be full time during summer and breaks and part time (up to 20 hours per week) during the academic year with the possibility of extending until graduation.
• ALLETE will comply with college requirements
• Hours and duration are subject to change based on company needs
