MASTER’S THESIS/INTERNSHIP IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING – 2027
Location: Bevaix (NE) – 4 to 6 months
Subject: Stray Field Immune Magnetic Joystick
As an intern at Melexis, you will model, optimize, and validate a Stray Field Immune Joystick based on an advanced Melexis magnetic sensor. Your work will directly impact how next-generation position sensors resist external magnetic interference.
Model the joystick's magnetic and mechanical geometry, simulate its behavior under various conditions, and optimize overall system accuracy.
Characterize the sensor in the laboratory to fine-tune and maximize joystick performance.
Build a functional hardware demonstration unit to showcase the final design.
A comprehensive simulation model integrating all key design parameters, enabling users to easily customize and develop their own tailored solutions.
A detailed characterization report evaluating sensor behavior, calibration data, and system performance boundaries.
A working physical prototype (demo) validating the theoretical models and demonstrating stray field immunity in real-time.
Education: Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
Technical Skills: Experience in magnetic field simulation and data processing using Python.
Lab Skills: Practical hands-on experience with hardware prototyping, electronic test equipment, and laboratory characterization.
Soft Skills: Proactive mindset, high flexibility, and a team-oriented attitude.
