About the internship

As a Software Engineering Intern at Barco Labs, you will contribute to the development of software solutions used in digital pathology and medical imaging. You will work on real engineering challenges ranging from image data processing and software libraries to automation frameworks, cloud applications, and platform development.

Depending on your interests and skills, you will be matched to a project where you can make a direct impact while working alongside experienced engineers.

What you'll do

• Software development in Python, C/C++, JavaScript or TypeScript
• Modern web applications and UI/UX concepts
• Test automation and CI/CD pipelines
• Cloud and cybersecurity solutions
• Medical imaging and digital pathology applications
• AI and image processing workflows
• Tooling, algorithms, and data processing solutions

A typical project could involve developing software features, building proof-of-concepts, improving development workflows, or extending image processing libraries used in digital pathology systems.

Who you are

• Bachelor or Master student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics-ICT or similar
• Experience with Python, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript or similar technologies
• Experience with Linux/ Docker
• Experience with Git (GitHub) and collaborative software development
• Experience with LLM in development
• Familiarity with software development best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent spoken and written communication in English
