As an intern at Melexis, you will develop and optimize an advanced digital twin for our state-of-the-art soft tactile sensors, driving the pipeline from physical material behavior all the way to machine learning-ready deployments.
Contribute to the physics-based modeling and simulation of hyperelastic materials and magnetic interactions, bridging physical material characteristics with our digital environments to recreate real-world sensor behavior (such as our Tactaxis technology).
Develop and implement a pipeline to generate synthetic datasets, leveraging domain randomization techniques.
Validate the simulation pipeline by conducting Sim-to-Real evaluations, comparing your synthetic data against physical lab tests and real-world sensor outputs to ensure high-fidelity ML training.
A functional pipeline capable of generating Sim-to-Real training data for soft tactile sensors.
A detailed report documenting the material simulation choices, pipeline implementation, and Sim-to-Real performance validation.
Interest in soft robotics, modern physics engines, and advanced sensor technology.
Strong experience in Python programming and script automation (required).
Basic experience with mechanical simulations, continuum mechanics, or physics solvers (e.g., MPM, FEM, Genesis) is a strong plus.
Basic knowledge of data science, neural networks, or machine learning pipelines (e.g., PyTorch) is a plus.
Curious, adaptable, with a strong "can-do" spirit and a passion for translating software concepts into physical reality.
Join Melexis to build your expertise in a high-tech, international environment alongside a friendly, dynamic team of experts. Located at our Bevaix site - a specialized center for magnetic, inductive, pressure, and current sensors - you will collaborate directly on cutting-edge developments within our active innovation center focused on robotics and biosensors.
