Service Parts engineering interns provide support to various members of the Service Parts team. The team is responsible for providing replacement part solutions to customers with aging equipment. Primary areas of focus will be on electric motors, valves (check, control, ball, regulator, solenoid), pump/motor assemblies, fan assemblies, heat exchangers, and engine handling lift equipment.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Define part/assembly design, drawing creation (source control, retrofit kit) and dimensional review with proper part numbering and taxonomy

  • Collaboration with suppliers to define replacement part or assembly

  • Interface and collaborate with hydromechanical system design engineers and compliance engineering

  • Validate safe working load requirements as necessary

  • Validate hazardous area certification requirements

  • Define kits as required to bridge form/fit/function differences including installation instructions and creation of bills of material and routing

  • Part/assembly modeling as required

  • Manage certification tables in ERP systems and evaluate part certification requirements/status coding

  • Manage technical questions from the field

  • INFO code analysis and supporting documentation as required

  • Part end-of-life identification and documentation

  • Define component/assembly change documentation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently in the process of obtaining a 4 year or advanced STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
  • Classified by your school as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or a Senior planning to attend graduate school, or currently attending graduate school.
  • Overall GPA of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous co-op or Internship experience.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • High energy level and sense of urgency.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Good business / technical judgment.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities for a variety of tasks.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
