Universal Destinations & Experiences Internship Program:

This position will offer the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals to gain valuable knowledge, skills, and on-the-job experience in the themed-entertainment environment, specifically supporting the Estimating & Scheduling functions of capital programs within Universal Orlando Resort's Technical Services division.

Through job shadows and supporting team members' work, this intern will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle for Construction projects at Universal Orlando Resort and be a part of shaping the overall strategy for completing a construction project.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main duties will support the Estimating & Scheduling functions of capital programs within the Technical Services division of work for Universal Orlando Resort.

Scheduling:
- Actively participate in scheduling work sessions
- Provide updates to project schedules supporting Project Management
- Support planning meetings with Facility, Ride, and Show teams
- Review and analyze contractor and vendor schedules
- Assist with the coordination of work with adjacent projects performed by other execution groups

Estimating:
- Reviews project plans and specifications
- Reviews 3rd-party construction cost estimates
- Supports historical cost tracking
- Supports quantity survey information and material take-offs
- Analyzes cost data, estimates, and bids

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with Primavera P6 Professional or Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office suite
  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Senior or above.
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
  • A transcript is required upon application.

PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Introductory experience with Tririga/MREF (IBM program) and Exactimate (estimating software)
  • Preferred majors include: Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field.

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2027.
  • Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
  • All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
