About the Position

WorldFish is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to support the Procurement team in the effective and compliant execution of procurement activities. The selected candidate will gain practical exposure to procurement operations while supporting the Procurement Manager and team in day-to-day processes, documentation management, vendor coordination, and data administration. The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge in procurement procedures, compliance standards, and operational best practices within a global institutional environment.

The successful candidate will:

  • Execute day-to-day procurement activities, such as issuing purchase orders and obtaining quotations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Maintain procurement records and documentation, including purchase orders and contracts.
  • Assist in vendor management processes, such as new supplier registration, due diligences checks and performance monitoring.
  • Follow up on procurement requests and inquiries from internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to address procurement-related challenges and issues.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to facilitate procurement processes.
  • Assist in ad-hoc procurement tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Requirements

This opportunity will be suitable for you if you have the below skills and qualifications:

  • A Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Candidates pursuing relevant coursework or certifications may also be considered.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and maintain procurement records and documentation.
  • Basic analytical and data handling skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in a professional environment.

Location and Duration

The successful intern will be based at WorldFish Headquarters in Penang, Malaysia. The successful candidate should be available to commence the internship as soon as possible for a duration of up to 06 months This position is open only to national applicants only Interviews are expected to be held in May/June 2026, and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview.
