What to Expect

This position is expected to begin around August/September 2026 and continue through December. Internships at Tesla are generally full-time, onsite roles that last a minimum of 12 weeks.

International Students: If your work authorization is via CPT, consult your school regarding your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week onsite. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

About the role

We’re hiring a driven Data Analytics Intern to support our People Analytics team within the People Engineering organization. This role will focus on analyzing and understanding data throughout the employee lifecycle, including aspects across recruiting, performance, compensation, mobility, and attrition at Tesla. The ideal candidate will be curious and show analytical rigor in their work, with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences. As a key member of our team, this person will take ownership of analytical projects, help improve data quality and accessibility, collaborate directly with analysts and engineers, and support the creation of real-time feedback systems for internal customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate ambiguous recruiting and people-related questions into clear analytical objectives, reports, and insights
  • Design, build, and maintain data models, dashboards, and visualizations to ensure data quality, consistency, and usability
  • Write SQL queries to collect, clean, analyze, and interpret data from multiple systems
  • Identify trends, patterns, and gaps in upstream data or systems and partner with the team to drive improvements
  • Communicate findings clearly to non-technical audiences and contribute to documentation, testing, and tool development

What You’ll Bring

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related STEM field
  • Available for a 12+ week period over the fall and able to work onsite full-time
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)
  • Experience with Python and analytical libraries
  • Solid understanding of fundamental data analysis concepts with a first-principles approach to problem solving
