At our headquarters in Sachseln, OW, we are currently offering a 6-month internship opportunity in our Measurement Technology department – starting September 2026.

The Measurement Technology department at maxon focuses on researching and developing methods for automated product testing at the highest technical level. Our test portfolio includes motors, gearboxes, encoders, PCBAs, and complete systems built around these components.To achieve this, we develop our own hardware and software platforms.

The internship is embedded in the Advanced Engineering team, which is responsible for developing new algorithms and testing methods, supporting their implementation and industrialization, and validating methods after rollout. Large volumes of measurement data are generated every day - and we are continuously looking for innovative ways to use this data to reliably distinguish good units from bad ones.

Your area of responsibility
Together, we define an internship topic that best matches your interests and qualifications. During your internship, you will work on the development and validation of technical methods and algorithms in the field of measurement technology and signal processing. Your tasks will include, among others:

• Analyzing existing measurement and test methods and systematically extending them for more complex systems
• Creating system and model descriptions as a basis for the development of new algorithms
• Designing, implementing, and continuously improving algorithms for the evaluation of measurement signals
• Planning, performing, and analyzing measurements and experiments
• Analyzing and interpreting measurement data to validate and assess the developed solutions
• Documenting results and discussing findings within the project team

This job is exactly right for you, if you...

• are currently studying Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and are at least in your fourth semester.
• have experience with system modelling and signal processing.
• have practical skills in MATLAB or Python; knowledge of LabVIEW and/or Machine Learning is a plus.
• have strong analytical skills and enjoy working with data and complex technical systems.
• are comfortable communicating results clearly and working collaboratively in an engineering environment.
