Internship: Junior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the position

The position is located at our office in Bucharest, where you’ll join Systematic’s Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. As an intern, you’ll become part of a team responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of applications used across the organisation. Working at the intersection of software development and IT operations, you’ll get hands-on experience with DevOps practices and modern technologies that help build and maintain robust software solutions.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to automation, deployment processes, monitoring, and infrastructure-related tasks. Throughout your internship, you’ll have the opportunity to explore different technologies, develop your technical skills, and learn how software systems are operated and maintained in real-world environments.

Your Daily Impact as an Intern

Are you the talent we’ve been searching for? We’re looking for someone who:

• Is currently a student in a technical Bachelor program (in the final years).
• Has a genuine interest in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and IT infrastructure.
• Has basic knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (e.g. Python, Java, JavaScript, C# or Bash).
• Is familiar with version control tools, preferably Git.
• Has an interest in automation, CI/CD, and containerization technologies.
• Communicates confidently in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Is curious, proactive, and enjoys troubleshooting and solving technical challenges.
• Enjoys teamwork and thrives in a collaborative, feedback-driven environment.

Technologies you might work with:

You don't need to know them all — but familiarity with one or more will definitely help:

• Programming and scripting languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash).
• CI/CD tools and deployment pipelines.
• Containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Version control tools (Git).
• Cloud platforms and infrastructure concepts (Microsoft Azure, AWS).
• Linux and Windows environments.
• Monitoring, automation, and configuration management tools.

Practical information

• Duration: 6 months, starting April 2027
• Type: Paid, part-time internship
• The setup will combine both in-office and remote work.
• Travel might be expected to our Headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark
